Sinclaire and Craig met at Oklahoma State University on the track and field team. The first time they met was actually on Sinclaire's recruiting visit to OSU. Craig was coming back from surgery, and joined in on a short run with some of the women on the team who were showing Sinclaire and other recruits the cross-country course. Their love story didn't begin until November of 2016. The cross-country team was hosting an end of season party. Brave freshman Sinclaire went up to upperclassmen Craig and gave him a one liner he couldn't resist ;) From that night, they like to say “we never stopped hanging out!”
Craig graduated from Oklahoma State in 2017 and moved to Greenville, SC to start his professional track career. They endured the long-distance relationship while Sinclaire was finishing school at OSU. Sinclaire gave up her remaining NCAA eligibility in August of 2019 to sign a contract with Nike. Craig moved back to Stillwater with Sinclaire, to both be coached by their college coach in January of 2020. Yay! Back together again. COVID happened as we all know, and they lived in Stillwater through the summer. Training still happened, but with the Olympics being cancelled there wasn’t any summer racing that year. In September of 2020, Sinclaire joined Bowerman Track Club and they moved to Portland, Oregon.
They started to feel at home with a wonderful community in Portland. They moved into a condo in the heart of the city (which they now own!!). Sinclaire went through her fair share of injuries, triumphs, failures, and coaching changes from the years of 2020-2024. Craig was mastering his craft of training through lots of experimentation which has led them to where they are today. Sinclaire hired Craig as her coach in the fall of 2024. During their first training camp in Flagstaff, Arizona as a coach/athlete duo, Craig drove Sinclaire 30 miles down a dirt road to get down on one knee and ask her to marry him. With teary eyes, she said YES! 😊 After a successful 2025 track season, Sinclaire has signed a new contract with Hoka. And Craig has signed his first coaching contract to be a coach of a new middle distance Hoka team in Portland.
